Please read the following from Meal Train: Protecting Your Community during COVID-19 We are heartened by MealTrain.com users setting up Meal Trains in support of those who are isolated or quarantined due to COVID-19. We've provided the following best practices to keep communities safe while they provide much needed support. "Contact-Free" Delivery of Food and Groceries The CDC states that the the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. This means avoiding close contact, and putting distance between yourself and other people. Meal Train therefore recommends that Meal Train participants/givers do a "Contact-Free" Delivery. Options include: Place the meal or groceries in a cooler on the porch. Leave the meal or groceries by the front door and return to your car. Once in your car, kindly call the recipient and let them know the delivery is available. If no one answers, contact the Meal Train organizer or, if possible, attempt a "Contact-Free" delivery with a neighbor or family member. Additional Meal Train Recommendations If you cannot complete your delivery, sign into mealtrain.com and cancel your date. We will alert the recipient and the organizer of the cancellation. Avoid entering the recipient's home. Perform a "Contact-Free" Delivery as described above. Use Disposable containers. Bring hand sanitizer on your drop off trip. Check in with the Meal Train organizer prior to delivering the meal to see if there are additional instructions or if the recipient needs anything. Please stay safe and healthy, Michael Laramee - Co-Founder of MealTrain.com
