WANT HALAL meats only- they are not sold in Grand Haven or Muskegon- only Grand Rapids!*** as of 8/13, they are willing to buy non- Halal meats. This has been changing back and forth. Likes: Rice, beans ,, pasta, lentils, cucumbers, tomatoes, hummus, Mediterranean olives, fruits, nuts, breads and jams, eggplant, zucchini, potatoes, spinach, apples, bananas, watermelon, hard boiled eggs, whole milk, plain yogurt, marinated vegetables, black tea, Sunny Delight, 7 up and colas, pita and Italian breads, cauliflower... Le Kabob restaurant (Grand Rapids). Hummus and Falafel restaurant (Allendale)

Malek, the special needs daughter seems to chew bread, and soft foods( rice, pasta, potatoes, hummus, etc.

Ride Instructions

Always leave at least 15 extra minutes to actually leave the house if you are taking them to appts. They are always needing extra time to be ready.they must be at curbside 5 minutes before a Harbor Transit pick-up. Harbor transit only waits exactly 2 minutes! HARBOR TRANSIT : (616) 842-3200. Every member of Al Masri family is registered with Harbor Transit and they are getting to know them well!

The address there is 17785 Mohawk Dr, Ferrysburg PICK UP KHOLOUD FROM ST. John’s Episcopal Church ESL. class at 11:30 and go straight to the food pantry and then home. Ali and Malak will ride bus home from the church’s ESL class at noon. Call Love in Action to hold her spot at the pantry (616) 846-2701. Groceries Instructions

Help point out the least expensive options on items in the store, and keep a running tally as she shops. REMIND KHOLOUD TO BRING BRIDGE CARD. They will have $200/week ($800/month) for groceries . They also have $75/ week ($300/month) cash assistance foe Malak, which will be on Malak’s individual Bridge Card. Money will appear in their Bridge card acct.on the 17th day of every month. At the bottom of every receipt they will see the amt. they started with and the ending balance. TP, foil, Saran wrap, soaps and detergents, etc. will NOT be covered by the Bridge Card. This card is FOOd ITEMS ONLY. They can get some toiletries at the food pantry or the dollar store. Help Kholoud see a running total of her grocery bill so she can see how items "add up." I will try to find out the staples that she will be able to get free from the food pantry close to them in Ferrysburg and the food trucks. That would help her make sure she doesn't spend money where she could obtain something for free. ***in Walmart There is usually a cart with SALE bakery items- they were at least 50% off. The family likes sweets- help Kholoud learn how to find the best price and limit "junk food " purchases. ( For example- Moayad wanted "Red Bull" for himself. He already was told ok by Kholoud for Pepsi... I said NO to Red Bull and explained the danger of high caffeine drinks and the waste of good food money on it. Malak's CASH benefit is deposited in her BRIDGE CARD cash acct. the 5th and 17th of every month@ $150 each time.
