Meal Instructions

Family Style Hot Dinner: Deliver at 5PM to Union Church. Please deliver to the door by the playground. You have two options when packaging dinner. We would prefer that you deliver the meal in large disposable pans (whole or 1/2 sheet pans for a steam table) and we will serve it. Or if you prefer you may individually package the meals in clamshell containers. Guests will eat the hot meal at registration before being transported to the hotel. We would prefer drinks in individual bottles, cans, or boxes. If the meal is being served family style, RITI Berea will provide plates, napkins, serving ware, and utensils for the nightly meal. If packaging meals separately, RITI may be able to supply the clamshell containers. Individually packed Tomorrow bags (breakfast/lunch items)intended for next day): Deliver at 5PM to Union Church on the day you are signed up. Don't forget drinks and utensils (if needed)! Guests will have mini fridges and microwaves in their rooms. Other options for providing a meal: We also have options for those that wish to cook the meal but may not be able to supply the ingredients. We know that in this time of rising costs, finances can be tight. The Berea Food Bank has agreed to supply us with ingredients if there are those that wish to provide a meal but find the expense too much. Reach out to us to find out how this works! Help Instructions

Registration Location: Union Church, 200 Prospect St. (across from Boone Tavern) Please enter at the door by the playground. Registration volunteers must attend training each season. If you have not had the opportunity to attend a RITI training this season, please contact us and we can arrange for "on the job" training where you shadow an experienced registrar during their shift. Registrar time Commitment: 5PM - 7PM Registrars should arrive at 5PM. Guests must arrive between 5:15 PM - 6 PM to be eligible for shelter. Registrar (Lead): Requirements: Will be a board member Responsibilities: Ensure overall operation of registration according to RITI guidelines, ensure nightly reports are completed accurately and delivered, and communicate any issues promptly with RITI Board. This will most likely be the person who leaves registration and accompanies the bus to Motel 6 so as to complete on-site check-in with guests. You will need to drive your own car. Registrar Requirements: Responsibilities: Complete intake interviews with guests and complete consent paperwork and guest contact card. We have automated much of the process to make it less confusing and more efficient! Guest information will now be entered electronically on RITI's laptop or on a personal smart phone. Ensure EVERY GUEST (adults and children) have accurate completed forms. Registrar Requirements: Ideally, must have attended training, but can shadow an experienced volunteer. Responsibilities: Coordinate dinner service during registration and manage leftovers (if any). Ensure each guest receives a Tomorrow bag before departing for the hotel. Coordinate snack distribution (if we have extra snacks). Clean up after dinner. If needed, assist with other aspects of registration as needed including helping with food service and/or distributing donated items to guests. We always need more hands! Meal server 1 and Meal server 2: Serve meals to guests and portion out food until 5:45. Guests may then be offered seconds if we have food left over. Offer guests snacks to take with them.
