In this unprecedented time of COVID-19, we have identified a need and way the Lubbock community can help 40 international students living on campus! Our aim is to help assist on campus International Students experiencing financial instability as a result of the current pandemic. As a result, we would like to have you contribute home-made, healthy, vegetarian and vegan friendly meals for international students living on campus to be dropped off at 2406 Broadway Avenue (CA Building) between the hours of 10:00 AM-11:30 AM, with a notecard including all ingredients inside your dish. These dishes will then be picked up Friday afternoon by international students needing food. If at all possible, please bring your dish in a container that wouldn’t need to be returned to you, and we will provide individual to-go containers for students to use. If that's not possible for you, we have disposable containers to transfer your dish into. When signing up, please also note how many servings your dish will provide. Food Pantry: We have started a food pantry to assist students living on and off campus. If you are unable to cook a hot meal this is a great alternative! Please consider donating non-perishables such as, microwave meals, dried rice or beans, tuna packets, breakfast bars, ramen noodles, fruit cups, etc. To follow social distancing practices We are also limiting the number of people entering the building to 2 people at a time during drop off. If you are not comfortable entering the building that is completely fine. There is a door bell on the far left side of the doors. Please press it, and someone will greet you at the door wearing a mask and gloves to take the food from you. We also know food aisles are low on stock and thus cooking for a crowd is difficult, so know a dish of any serving size is welcomed and appreciated! Thanks in advance for your contribution. Together, we can get through this! Please share this opportunity with your wider community but do know we will work to do this every week at this same time of drop-off until there is no longer a need, so if all spots are full you can sign up for the following week.
Many international students cannot eat beef or pork so please avoid products with these in them.
