Not your typical Meal Train… Lauren is courageously facing Stage IV metastatic breast cancer for the second time, and now, more than ever, diet has become a crucial part of her journey toward remission. She understands that the right nutrition can be a powerful ally, supporting her body’s natural defenses and resilience.
Together, as part of her NOURISHMENT CIRCLE, your participation will not only provide approved meals for her and her family but also bring comfort, nourishment, and time to Lauren’s goal of living a long and joyful life with her family.
Lauren is on a strict, Organic, Whole Food, Plant-Based Diet. Due to the complexity of her diet, we’re shifting towards a SPONSOR A MEAL type Meal Train where participants can contribute to the cost of ingredients and our select team of WELLNESS CHEFS have taken on the responsibility of shopping, prepping, cooking and delivering said approved meals.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
1. SPONSOR A MEAL: Instead of figuring out what to cook, shopping, prepping, cooking, and delivering a meal to Lauren, by simply Sponsoring a Meal, your funds will go directly to our Wellness Chefs so that they can create and deliver healthy, pre-approved meals to Lauren and her family. Our goal is to provide 4 meals/week so that Lauren can devote her time and energy to her family and her health.

$90 = three meals
$120 = a week of meals for Lauren and her family!

Last week, Lauren had her first low-dose chemo session—and she’s already showing us the incredible power of resilience and hope. That same night, she was snuggling her sweet kids, sharing precious moments of love and connection. And just two days later, she was on her roof, stringing Christmas lights, determined to bring joy and light to her family and home.
Lauren’s journey is not just about fighting cancer—it’s about living fully in every moment, finding strength in small victories, and showing us all what true courage looks like.
Every twinkle of those Christmas lights is a reminder that hope shines brighter than any challenge. Let’s continue to rise for Lauren and support her as she fights for remission with unwavering determination.
Thank you to everyone who has supported her so far. Together, we are lifting her up. Let’s keep the momentum going!

REVAMPED Meal Train for Lauren Perfors - Sponsor A Meal to continue the support!
JB
November 15, 2024 by Josephine Barstow
Hello once again! I want to start off by thanking each and everyone of you who contributed to Lauren’s Meal Train this summer - your contribution of time, energy, money and cooking skills was greatly received and appreciated by the Perfors family!
Quick update…Lauren is doing well, but her fight isn’t over yet. Unfortunately, the last 2 clinical trials have failed, so Lauren has been working intensely on determining what’s next and has landed on a solid plan to get her to remission.
We want to continue to support her in her healing journey and as previously mentioned, nutrition plays a large role in that. While we’re beyond appreciative of all of the meals that were prepared and delivered with love, due to the complexity of her WFPB diet, we’re shifting towards a SPONSOR A MEAL type Meal Train where you can simply contribute to the cost of ingredients and our select team of WELLNESS CHEFS will take on the responsibility of shopping, prepping, cooking and delivering said approved meals.
Please take a moment to REVIEW the updated Meal Train description and pick a couple of dates to Sponsor a Meal - 100% of donated funds will go towards preparing meals for Lauren and her family as if you shopped, prepped and cooked them yourself!
*If you truly love to cook and are interested in becoming one of our Wellness Chefs we are looking to add 2-4 more to the team to share in the cooking responsibilities (details on the Meal Train page).
If you have any questions please let myself or Lica, our Wellness Chef coordinator, know and thanks again!
