Allergies or Restrictions
Julie's doctor put her on a low-carb Mediterranean/Pescatarian/ Vegetarian diet. Sadly, she has to give up dairy (but can have goat and nut replacements). Organic (pasture raised when applicable) eggs, chicken, turkey are also good sources of protein. Avoid red meat for now. Vegetables to avoid or incorporate minimally: corn, peas, white potatoes, and carrots (okay if the latter are incorporated into other foods/recipes). Alternate “starch” ideas: cauliflower bread or rice, use squash over potatoes- spaghetti squash is great as are pumpkins. Grain free pasta is also a great substitute for traditional pasta.
