Meal Train® for The Finley Family

The Finley family, new to ASA, found our school community by chance, and enrolled their three boys (they have five children in total) in 1st, Kinder and PreK 4. She had planned to enroll just one son, but as she learned about our school, all three were enrolled. When I met Katie (mom), she shared with me her story. While Katie and her husband, Raun, lived in Princeton, MN (my hometown), and were expecting their fifth child, Katie was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a childhood cancer that is very rare in adults. She delivered her baby girl at 32 weeks in July so that she could begin treatment. Her family decided to relocate temporarily to St. Cloud to live with her parents because her treatments require her to be hospitalized for up to 14 days each chemotherapy cycle. She must undergo 17 rounds of chemo. Additionally, her husband, Raun, has just started a leadership position at a school in Spring Lake Park, MN, requiring long commutes.
