Hello friends of Open Door Women's Shelter! Thank you for your interest in preparing and delivering a meal to our residents. Here are some things to know: PLEASE CALL BEFORE DELIVERING: 252-833-8492 or 252-902-6883 the day before your scheduled meal to make sure there are residents to feed, to get a head count, or to ask questions. *Residents have access to a full kitchen and cook for themselves most nights, but just as with all other women, they'd love a night off on occasion! *ODCC is open 7 days a week, so feel free to choose any night that is free on the schedule. *If you prefer to send a gift card, we prefer Grub Hub as we have a running tab with them. However, other gift cards are welcome. *The shelter opens at 6pm daily. We ask that meals be delivered as close to 6pm as possible, at the front door. If inclement weather, feel free to knock on the back door as it is under a roof. There is usually a staff member at the shelter shortly before 6pm. Be sure to knock even if you don't see a car. *We have all the plates/silverware/serving utensils necessary and are able to reheat food.
