We serve a diverse group of guests, some of whom may have food allergies or dietary sensitivities. To help us serve meals safely and inclusively, please keep the following in mind: Common Allergens Clearly label meals that contain: • Peanuts or tree nuts • Shellfish • Eggs • Dairy • Soy Dietary Considerations • Simple, traditional meals are easiest to serve and safest for most guests Important Notes • We are not able to guarantee allergen-free meals in our shared kitchen • Providing ingredient lists or allergen notes is extremely helpful • When in doubt, labeling is always appreciated Our staff will do their best to guide guests and offer alternatives when needed. Your thoughtful preparation and clear labeling help ensure everyone can enjoy a meal safely.

Special Instructions
Preparing a dinner is a meaningful way to support guests staying at our homeless shelter. We serve three meals a day, 365 days a year, and your generosity helps ensure everyone receives nourishing, comforting food. Each meal should be prepared to serve at least 10 adults year-round and 15 adults from November through March, when additional guests are accommodated during Cold Shelter season. Important Information for Meal Donations Meal Drives: If your company, group, or church plans to donate multiple meals at one time, please contact us in advance to ensure freezer space is available: 📧 Lindsay@hitfoundation.org 📞 (937) 472-0500 ext. 409 Meal Preparation • All meals must be fully cooked prior to delivery • Cooked and frozen meals are welcome • Our shelter kitchen is used for warming only. Meal Ideas (not limited to): Ham, macaroni and cheese, green beans, spaghetti, soup, turkey, sandwiches, lasagna, and lunch meat roll-ups are all great options. Packaging and Labeling • Use sturdy, disposable pans (approximately 9x13 or 12x10) • Cover securely with foil lids • The shelter provides serving utensils and dinnerware • Please clearly label each meal with: o Name of the dish o Date prepared o Suggested warming instructions Food Safety • Please pull back or secure hair during preparation • Wear food-grade gloves while handling food Meal Drop-Off Details Home Is The Foundation Shelter 2009 State Route 127 North Eaton, Ohio 45320 Drop-Off Procedure • Shelter staff are onsite 24/7 for secure drop-offs • Please park in the front lot and ring the doorbell for assistance Questions? 📞 (937) 472-0500 ext. 422

Favorite Meals or Restaurants
Our guests appreciate simple, hearty, comfort-style meals, the kind that feel familiar and filling after a long day. Crowd-pleasing options are always a win! Guest Favorites Include: • Spaghetti with meat sauce • Lasagna or baked ziti • Meatloaf with mashed potatoes • Chicken and noodles • Chili or hearty soups • Tacos or taco casseroles • Ham or turkey with sides • Sandwiches with chips and fruit Restaurant Donations Meals from local restaurants or caterers are also welcome, as long as they: • Are fully cooked • Serve at least 10 people (15 during Cold Shelter season) • Can be safely warmed and served If you’re unsure whether a meal idea will work, feel free to reach out—we’re always happy to help guide you. 💙 Thank you for sharing your favorite foods and flavors with our shelter guests. A good meal goes a long way in making someone feel cared for and at home.
Least Favorite Meals
While we are grateful for all meal donations, certain items tend to be less well-received or are difficult for our guests to eat, serve, or store. When possible, we kindly ask donors to avoid the following: • Very spicy or heavily seasoned foods • Fish or seafood dishes • Extremely dry foods (plain chicken breast, un-sauced pasta, etc.) • Dishes requiring extensive assembly or special preparation • Meals with bones or shells • Foods that require special dietary knowledge to serve safely Please Also Avoid: • Alcohol-based ingredients (beer, wine, cooking spirits) • Foods requiring raw ingredients to be added or cooked onsite • Items that cannot be easily reheated Our goal is to serve meals that are comforting, filling, and easy to enjoy for a wide variety of guests. If you’re unsure whether a meal idea is a good fit, we’re always happy to help—just reach out.
