If possible, plan meals so there are enough left-overs for a second meal. If you're a go-getter, you could throw in a couple of muffins for breakfast! (not necessary, just if you want to!) Drop the meal and run - please don't use this time to sit and chit chat. We don't want them to have to talk through everything that's going on, or feel that they need to "entertain" or have them go through details. The meals are a time for them to relax and just have some delicious food! Don't ask them "what to do you want to eat?" - look at the meal train and see what others have brought - try to offer variety. It might be nice to even include even plastic silverware, paper plates and napkins so all they need to do is eat, and then throw everything away Please don't send dishes that need to be returned - we don't want them to have to wash dishes and keep them organized to return. Stop off at the dollar store - you can get a "throw-away" dish for $1! Katie and Wendell are so appreciative of your help during this time!
