WHAT KIND OF FOOD SHOULD I PROVIDE? In general, Ben and Jess love healthy flavorful meals with fresh ingredients in crazy combinations. Fermented foods are also quite popular, but I’m sure they would appreciate whatever you can do best. Don’t forget, though, that they only eat veggie proteins and fish! There are 3 options in providing food: ● homemade, ● take-out, or ● a contribution to Cooking from the Heart, a meal delivery service HOMEMADE Ben and Jess would love some fabulous, healthy, home cooked meals. But please make sure to check the meal train and do your best to bring something that other people haven’t brought recently. (While lasagna is super yummy, two weeks of lasagna can get a little old!)… If you can, bring your fabulous food in a dish that you don’t need back or can be recycled. TAKE-OUT If you are too busy to cook but would like to help with the Meal Train, you can always order take-out. You can have the restaurant deliver the food to Ben and Jess on your night or drop it off in person if you want to see Quinlan in the flesh. Below are a few of their favorite restaurants or introduce them to one of yours: Red Lentil Tony’s by George veggie pizza Yak and Yeti Spike’s veggie dogs Wang’s dumplings COOKING FROM THE HEART If you live far away or are busy but would like to help with the Meal Train, you can contribute to Ben and Jess’ “Cooking from the Heart” gift certificate (http://www.cookingfth.com/). Cooking from the Heart is a local company that delivers healthy food to families. We have created a gift account for Ben and Jess. If you’d like to contribute, please send a check (most meals for two run about $25) and note to: Cooking from the Heart PO Box 827, Bryantville, MA 02327 On your note please include: “Gift for Benjamin Garton and Jess Riggs Garton” And please include your name and address Ben and Jess will schedule deliveries when they need them, and Cooking from the Heart will let them know who gave this wonderful gift! IS VISITING PERMITTED? If you are bringing food over, please limit your visit to around 30 minutes. This is dependent on the situation of course. If everybody is alert and coherent, they’d probably love to spend more time with you. DETAILS: This info is on the "Meal Train" site, but to reiterate: Ben and Jess live at: 403 Main St. #3 Medford, MA 02155 They’re hoping for meals to be delivered around 7pm Please direct all inquiries to Ben: (617) 953-2537; garton.benjamin@gmail.com *Don’t forget that Ben’s a teacher and probably won’t be able to return your call or answer your e-mail until after school. Having recently had a Meal Train - I can tell you, this is a real lifesaver that the new parents will NEVER FORGET. The goal is to have food start arriving as soon as Quinlan gets the “All Clear” to go home—likely around the middle of April. So, please take a moment THIS WEEK to sign up –the Meal Train is starting April 21st! Also, please set a reminder in your iphone, or whatever, because Meal Train doesn’t have a reminder feature. Many thanks! Sarah Phillips
